Summer Pi Program is a memorization challenge/competition. We are challenging you to memorize digits of pi this summer!

Pi is a mathematical number that goes on infinitely. It has absolutely no pattern. Pi is represented by the Greek letter π.

Pi is the circumference of a circle divided by the diameter of the circle.

Anyone can sign up for Summer Pi Competition. If you are not entering Summer Pi Competition, you can sign up for Summer Pi Challenge, which you can sign up for any time.

You can do either Summer Pi Challenge or Summer Pi Competition, but you can't sign up for both.

Summer Pi Challenge challenges you to memorize as many digits of π as you can this summer (from June 1 through August 31)! You will basically be challenging yourself.

If you decide on Summer Pi Competition, you will try to memorize the more digits of π this summer (from June 1 through August 31) than anyone else who enters this competition! There are two different classes, and winners and runner-uppers will be honorably mentioned. The winners will be privileged to have a post written about them all on this blog (Random Thoughts). Age will not be taken into consideration when the virtual ribbons are given out, unless a whole lot of people sign up in the same class for Summer Pi Competition. If that happens, we will award virtual ribbons for the different age divisions.
