Dark Horse, book review, by Dandi Daley Mackall

In the fourth book of the Starlight Animal Rescue series, sixteen-year-old Hank Coolidge meets his cousin’s friend, Winnie the Horse Gentler.  I must say, their email relationship is better than their face-to-face relationship.  After the barn burns down, Hank is set on finding out who and why the barn burned.  While he is working on that, Winnie the Horse Gentler is trying to get through to a horse, Cleopatra, who had been in the burning barn.  Fire does something to a horse.  How can Winnie help the mare to be able to see past her fear?  At the same time, Winnie is trying to get along with Hank, worrying about what to do after she gets out of high school, and doubting God’s love for her.  What will happen?  Will things work out?

I rate this book “G”, “Good”.
