This is a long, boring note about the hopefully exciting stuff on my blog, Random Thoughts. Remember when you’re typing in the site address that it is more than one thought, plural thoughts. I would go insane if I only had one thought. Just so you know, the only reason I password-protected this page on my blog is because it gives away what happens in a few of my stories. The only other password-protected pages […] Read more »
The Boxcar Children, a book series review
I have read most of The Boxcar Children series, by Gertrude Chandler Warner. The first book in the series is not a mystery book, the other books are. Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny Alden live with their rich grandfather after their parents died in a car accident. They travel to many places including Niagra Falls, the Whitehouse, and many other well-known places, and solve mysteries. The first about ten books are written by the original […] Read more »
My Book Review Rating System
I read a lot, and I write a lot, so I though to myself, “Why not write about what I read?” That is why I write so many book reviews. In my book reviews, I write about what happens in the book, being careful not to ruin the story. Then I have an ending paragraph, in which I rate the book. I rate good books “G”, which means “Good”. I rate books “LG” when I […] Read more »
Dark Horse, book review, by Dandi Daley Mackall
In the fourth book of the Starlight Animal Rescue series, sixteen-year-old Hank Coolidge meets his cousin’s friend, Winnie the Horse Gentler. I must say, their email relationship is better than their face-to-face relationship. After the barn burns down, Hank is set on finding out who and why the barn burned. While he is working on that, Winnie the Horse Gentler is trying to get through to a horse, Cleopatra, who had been in the burning barn. […] Read more »
Runaway, book review

She plans to run away from the moment she sets foot on the animal rescue. While […] Read more »

She was adopted, but then her adoptive parents died. So her aunt comes to live with her and her little brother, B.C.. When the farm her grandfather owns is in danger of being used as land for Dalton Stables, Scoop must find a way to save it, and her beautiful horse, Orphan. […] Read more »
Anteaters and Aardvarks
You may have heard of an anteater, and you may have heard of an aardvark. You may have even seen some at a zoo. But do you know how to tell them apart? Believe it or not, they are really two different kinds of animals. If you do not believe me, look them up in the animal encyclopedia. The animal that we are going to learn about for the letter “a” is going to be […] Read more »
Shooting Star
This story received honorable mention in a writing contest, the It’s All Write writing contest. Hope you enjoy it! Note: I have an audio of part of this, attached. I’d never really liked staying in one place for a long period of time. I suppose that was a good thing, because my family traveled a lot for my father’s job. But I’d always wanted a forever friend, someone who would always be there with me. […] Read more »
The Unicorn Puzzle Story, and How I Came Up With It
This post tells of some of the behind the scenes work that I do for my stories. This one is using the story The Unicorn Puzzle, as an example. I would recommend reading the story before reading about the behind the scenes work. This post I have written is to encourage children (and adults) to try writing their own stories. I have divided up my post into sections, telling step-by-step how I write my stories. […] Read more »
